Today we depart China – boarding our 6th train across Asia and the one that is famously known as the trains-Mongolian express. 26 hours of gobi desert, Great Wall vistas and a final destination of Ulan Batar. Mongolia: home of Genghis Khan, reindeer herders and truly nomadic people living across the vast plains. 'Quite possibly there's nothing as fine as a big freight train starting across country in early summer, Hardesty thought. That's when you learn that the tragedy of plants is that they have roots.' ~ Patricia Highsmith
