'If you want to end the war then instead of sending guns, send books. Instead of sending tanks, send pens. Instead of sending soldiers, send teachers' ~ Malala Yousafzai. . . Coming to Bosnia & Herzegovina is the closest I've been to seeing a country that has recently been ravished by horrendous wars. I have of course seen war in the face of people, of children and adults who've escaped the current hideous wars .. but this is the first time I've seen it in the bones of a city. . A country with buildings still riddled with bullet holes and street art reminding all never to forget. Of damaged and abandoned buildings around every corner. . Yet this one is also a country full of generous, smiling & welcoming people. Fairytale villages and awe inspiring natural scenery. Delicious foods and trees overflowing with fresh apricots and cherries. . . ? Bosnia & Herzegovina. Tomorrow we make our way to Sarajevo to learn more about this country's history & capital. .
