Dusk in the Chinatown markets of Bangkok Anna 4 years ago Dusk in the Chinatown markets of Bangkok Share this: A wonderful after work adventure today involved a pass through the Bangkok flower market. This large riverside space was formally a floating market in the early 18th century, eventually becaming a large fish market.. that is until local authorities grew tired of the market’s fish smell. Eventually flower vendors took over and now this magnificent market fills the space with fragrant orchids, marigolds, jasmine and all kinds of bouquets and arrangements.February 5, 2020In "Photos"Bangkok street food lifeOctober 17, 2018In "Photos"So after 24hrs from hotel -> hotel, we traversed nearly 800km across Thailand via mini bus + overnight train. After 24hrs awake, sleeper class sold out and a night spent upright with the company of Disney movies (Aladdin anyone??) and a series of overtired meltdowns, here we are. Bangkok remains a city I always love, and could spend endless time exploring the canals, backstreets and markets of this incredible city. However, exhaustion wins and an early night is on the cards.. just this once.March 21, 2017In "Photos"
