My 2 months nestled into Victoria City is already over halfway through. I took a little time to settle down into a quieter life, one that involves a broken hand in a plaster-cast (and introduction to the Canadian healthcare system), more wandering the summertime leafy street (with less bicycling than I’d hoped) and a lot more studying than I’m used to in my normal day to day. This city is magnificent. I frequently encounter young deer in my front yard, squirrels out my window and otters in the harbour. It has, so far, been delightful. September will bring a trip to Vancouver, then onto Florida & Colorado, followed by a return to this lovely island to explore the wilder, less-citylike parts.
