Exploring Nishiki Market, Kyoto
I have found myself captivated by the intricacies of the display food here. Every restaurant has it, and the amount of detail is bizarrely impressive and they will take up entire shop windows displaying the entire menu in miniature form.
Spent the morning exploring the vermillion gates at Fushimi Inari shrine. This is the most important of several thousands of shrines that are dedicated to Inari, the Shinto god of rice. The abundance of Fox statues are because Foxes are thought to be Inari's messengers.
