Horta is a famous stop off point for transatlantic sailors passing through, its become an obligatory routine to leave your mark of passage in the form of a painting or drawing on the colourfully decorated jetty walls, although they are getting overcrowded and some creative sailors are finding other spots to mark their passage
One of the most remarkable flights of my life. Gliding over lush green islands, massive volcanic craters & peaks, and oceans that somehow managed to pull off the deepest sapphire blue yet such clear visibility I could see the stones below from the plane.
Ever heard of the Azores and wondered where they are? This should give some indications.. Green, often rainy, Portuguese inhabited islands out in the Atlantic known for volcanoes, whales and nature, amongst other things. Around a thousand miles off the coast of Portugal and around two thousand from the USA.
