day 6 Today I’m thankful for rest. I’ve been working so hard to meet deadlines that I was finding myself a little burned out. Thankfully a few earlier nights in bed is helping to reset that balance, And I’m working hard to try and take breaks and naps where I can. I’m also thankful that I work for the coolest company, with some pretty rad people. Working flexible hours, and fully remote, doing something I care about and with a product I believe in makes taking on too much with all my study and extra-curricular hobbies, somehow feel less difficult. Picture: throwback to a team meetup we had in Hawaii, where we went out on the water around beautiful Kauai to see spectacular views such as this one
If I could travel again right now, where would I go?? . Well, that's quite the difficult question. On the one hand, I'm pining for lush jungles and sandy beaches. On the other, I'd love to delve into the food & culture & history of Europe. ? .? In all honesty, I'm pretty darned lucky to be where I am right now (New Zealand) and I am so thankful for all that I have. But it doesn't stop the daydreams of far off lands, so I'm spending some time compiling my photos, rehashing old memories, and filling out my blog. ? .? Bucharest for me was just a taste of Romania. I only had four days to spend in Romania, but in my time there I learned of many other natural wonders in the country – spectacular mountains, picturesque villages, impressive castles (including Dracula’s castle!) and beautiful coastlines. Perhaps someday I will return to see what the rest of this unassumingly gorgeous, and often misunderstood, country has to offer.? .? For now, I wrote a blog about my first trip to Romania: A brief moment in Bucharest ? .? —? Link in bio! (or check it out here: https://buff.ly/3cuwUmr) — .
Harajuku. Such a fun day exploring Harajuku in central Tokyo, finding our way down the crowded Takeshita street, admiring the overwhelming Japan-ness of it all, spying unicorn cotton candy, owl cafes, hyper-real teenage Harajuku fashionistas and hello kitty at every corner. Even spotted a @cookietime.nz Cookie Time Bar for a touch of home!
day 51 mezcal margaritas, mezcal ice cream, and just mezcal in general for life in a culinary mecca where every corner brings new delights and deliciousness and discoveries for creative inspiration for memories and love, for my fathers birthday and the influence he’s had upon my life for the memories I will always carry for words. For all the words that are my therapy, my inspiration, my motivation and for carrying me through – in story, poetry, quote, song and conversation .. just for words for the people who read my writing for never giving up for counting down the days for simultaneously loving my life now, and my march in Oaxaca ..but also looking forward for April adventures for chasing all the springs and summers
day 21 cute bookshops cinnamon kombucha smoothie bowls & fresh juice on scorching hot mornings finally learning Spanish.. for real this time daydreaming of spending all of 2019 in the American continent beachlife everyday feeling inspired & content eating more vegetables & how good it feels my life lived under the sun, chasing the summer
So, after a delicious few days spent in Tirana devouring everything in sight (p.s Albania ?? has just made top of my list for underrated countries on the European continent.. like France or Italy, but way more chilled and less tourism) Now we are in Sarande in the very south of Albania, close to the Greek border. Much more of a Greek feel than the north with delicious food and crystal clear waters… I love this place
