This wintery weather really has me missing some of my warmer recent travels, so I've been blogging this week about a road trip we took last year around Martinique in the French Caribbean. In this edition of the blog, we drove around the South of the island, from Trois Ilets down to Sainte-Anne. Of a full days beach hopping Anse Noir was hands down my favourite Martinique beach. Nicknamed ‘Robinson Crusoe Beach’ it takes a bit of research, some intrepid driving and a bunch of stair walking to find, but the end result is worth it all. Volcanic black glistening sand, abundant shady palms, less tourists than other easier to reach bays, and crystal clear waters full of sea turtles and angelfish to snorkel with.
