Exploring an ancient city that's beginnings to catch up with modern times
Today has been a chilled out day escaping the heat and enjoying the chilled out vibe of Jaisalmer. Between the golden sandstone buildings, narrow streets, bazaars and call-to-prayer playing out over the city, its hard to believe this is still India and not much deeper into the middle east.
Slept last night up on the rooftop, the coolest spot overnight in the hotel, and woke up to stunning early morning panoramic views across the city and the fort. This city is so magical, like something straight out of Aladdin or Arabian nights.
Hanging out with the holy street cows of Jaisalmer, as I explore the inner fort of this fascinating and gorgeous desert city.
After sleeping through the night on a 12hour train ride through the Thar desert, I've arrived in Jaisalmer, the 'golden city' where I'm surrounded by forts that look like sandcastles, camels wandering the streets and 40+ daily temperatures.
