day 43 The wonders of a good nights sleep cooler days to contrast five years of hot a life on the go job satisfaction life satisfaction people who write so well I feel each word in my heart feeling inspired to grow and develop as a writer reading and listening and devouring words and story friendly people & fun Uber drivers photo: throw back to Mexico last week, it’s time I stepped away from the beach for a while but it was pretty magical.
day 40 my last day on the Oaxacan Coast … To the birds that call like telephones from high up in the mango tree, the man holding a beaming daughter high on his shoulders to reach the best flowers, to the tiny turtles for reminding me to stay free, and the dolphins for reminding me to never stop playing. To the kind lady with the red dress and the girl with the amethysts who painted my nails purple. To all the hammocks who held my weight while I rested and recovered and processed my thoughts. To everything – person, place and creature that’s made these three weeks so magical, I am forever grateful. day 39 I’m grateful for long walks along the coastline always feeling excited for upcoming trips and plans giant green juices on warm Mexican mornings lizard watching in the summer sun rummaging through boxes of books in tiny stores early nights & late mornings people watching the beautiful moments of everyday life
day 38 I’m grateful for art everywhere reminding me of the all the talented people, and the beauty that exists around each corner of the world having all the time in the world to contemplate what’s important having freedom and planning my life, my journeys, my adventures, and the things I want to pursue the empathy I feel and how that drives me to care and love and want to create change amazing spoken word poets and how damn talented they are at writing like that wonderful cafes and delicious açai bowls free days to do as much (or as little) as I want and as always, everyday, the people who bring meaning to my everyday “We cant always choose the music life plays for us, but we can choose how we dance to it”
day 37 I’m thankful for margaritas at sunset living my dreams every day feeling reinspired to write & create meaningful conversations about things that matter, and having people in my life who are interested in those kinds of conversations stockpiling books to read falling in love with different things, people and ideas every day for jungles and lakes and beaches and forests .. for all the nature and wildlife that keeps me curious about this planet
day 34 and I’m grateful for .. sunsets so beautiful I can’t pick just one picture evening beach strolls in the warm nights air the Pacific Ocean, and all the oceans listening to all the music appreciating the small details throughout each and every day making amends tacos al pastor at tiny local taquerias dancing waking without alarms
day 33 today I’m grateful for hammock naps and gorgeous sunsets fresh juices and veggie tacos extra long sleep ins and early nights enjoying my last week in puerto Escondido before making my way onto new adventures next weekend lizard watching listening to the wind rustling through the palms
day 29.. flexible travel & life plans productive days at work tacos everyday palm trees early nights asleep & waking feeling rested endless summers in my life
day 26 watching sunsets over palmtrees from my balcony luxurious apartments every now and then walking barefoot down the beach love, and all the forms it takes hostel book swaps when somewhere feels like home for inexplicable reasons missing people, and realising how nice that can feel chilled music in the sun the shade of giant mango trees homemade salsas late nights sitting up talking to people I adore falling asleep to the sound of the ocean how wondrous and diverse this world, and it’s landscapes, nature and cultures truly are the freedom to follow the things that bring me joy all the love and gratitude I feel for living this life, exisiting on this planet, and all the complexities and beauty and love that brings
